New Perspectives: Contemporary Art from the West Coast Art Collection presents a selection of recent additions to the museum’s international contemporary art collection. The exhibition brings together artists whose work engages with the coast as a site of change, encounter and contemporary experience.
Some works were developed on Föhr through the museum’s artist residency programme, while others approach the North Sea and coastal environments through broader questions of cultural identity, colonial history and ecological change.
The exhibition includes works by Nicole Ahland, Per Bak Jensen, Joakim Eskildsen, Rune Guneriussen, Peter Hamel, Karoline Hjorth & Riitta Ikonen, Anja Jensen, Andreas Jorns, Ellen Kooi, Yinka Shonibare, Trine Søndergaard, Mila Teshaieva and Thomas Wrede.
The exhibition runs from 27 September 2026 to 12 September 2027.
