We are excited to share the latest addition to the Eyes as Big as Plates family in the group show HUNGER, which opens at Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art in Trondheim this Saturday. The exhibition explores work samples, field documentation and art works resulting from workshops in Östersund (SE), Vaasa (FI) and Trondheim (NO), with site-specific craft techniques and raw materials as starting points for artistic research.
In the last workshop in Trondheim earlier this autumn the Eyes as Big as Plates duo had the great honour of portraying the luminous Brit Dyrnes draped in her own artistic raw material, local clay (similar to London clay), on the shores of Byneset. The result will be shown for the very first time at Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art, along with works by Mia Damberg (FI), Pauliina Pöllänen, Åsa Maria Hedberg (SE), Anna Nordström, Edith Lundbrekke (NO), Ingrid Becker (NO), Tovelise Røkke-Olsen (NO) and Pia Antonsen Rognes (NO).
HUNGER is the 2018 thematic exhibition of The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts and is curated by Toril Redalen and project manager Siri Skjerve. The exhibition is open until 20 January 2019 (closed for Christmas holidays from 24 Dec. to 1 Jan).
