Finnskogen Understories – New permanent art installation in Svullrya, opening next week!

We are proud to announce the unveiling of our Finnskogen adventures from last September, four new permanent artworks will be presented in the heart of Svullrya!

Commissioned as part of the Svullrya development project, we roamed the deep forests, wet marshes and floating islands of Finnskogen together with a formidable quartet of locals. The resulting portraits of Andreas, Einar, Kyrre and Sinikka are all part of the project Finnskogen Understories, a series that explores new perspectives on Svullrya as the center of the forest Finnish culture in Eastern Norway, and how these Finnskogen residents experience the current renaissance of the Forest Finnish historical and cultural heritage.

Come join us on Friday July 10th at 6.15 pm! Unveiling right after Prime Minister Even Wiger in the Republic of Finnskogen has raised the Finnskogen flag and held this year’s throne speech. The Mayor of Grue, Rune Grenberg will follow with an opening speech and yours truly will give a short presentation of the project.
